European Common FrogFrog EyesFrog Teeth

There are many strange facts about frogs. Some examples are:

• People wonder what the difference is between frogs and toads, although toads actually are frogs.

• There are many different eye shapes of frogs, from round to vertical to heart-shaped to even star-shaped.

• When a frog swallows its food, its bulging eyeballs close and go down into its head to apply pressure to push the food down its throat!

• Some frogs have long, sticky tongues, some have short tongues, and some have no tongues at all.

• Frogs actually do have teeth of some sort, but toads do not have teeth. (They don't really look like this picture though!)

• Frogs have ears that actually connect to their lungs.

• A group of frogs is called an army of frogs.

• The biggest frog is the Goliath Frog and the smallest is the Gold Frog.

• Frogs seem to live for about 4 to 15 years!
